Diagnostic summary

  • What you see on plants

- may show chlorotic ring spots but in most infected cultivars plants are symptomless.

 

- in some graft-inoculated sweetpotato  cultivars,  the virus induces extensive chlorotic spotting of leaves.

  • Transmitted by mechanical inoculation, but not by contact between plants.

  • Has only been reported in a few countries e.g. Papua New Guinea and Kenya.
