Notes

Species largely tropical in distribution, found on native vegetation and on crop plants (Collyer, 1982; Schicha, 1987). This species is very similar to A. herbicolus (= A. deleoni) - the two species can be told apart by the shape of the spermatheca in females: in A. largoensis the cervix of the spermatheca is long and narrow, with parallel sides along the entire length (tube-shaped). In A. herbicolus the spermatheca flares slightly toward the distal end, forming a long, narrow funnel. Some of New Zealand A. largoensis may have been A. herbicolus (Collyer, 1982).
