Shrub or tree 1-4m tall. ‘Leaves’ alternating up the stems, 5-16cm long, to 2mm wide, linear to flat or quadrangular or narrow cylindrical, with smooth edges and a curved point.   The basal part of the 'leaves' hairless, the top (apical) part with very short hairs.  Flower heads yellow, cylindrical or elliptical, in pairs, the stalks arising from the bases of the 'leaves'.
