Notes

Perennial grass to 80cm tall.  Leaves with a hairless or hairy sheath at the base.  Ligule a membrane with or without a fringe of hairs. Leaves flat or the edges rolled inwards, 20-40cm long, 1-2mm wide, hairless to rough, the margins smooth to rough or hairy.  Spikelets silvery, 8-13mm long, excluding the awn. Mature seed group cylindrical or spreading. Seeds with one long awn.
