Notes

Perennial grass 50-140cm tall.  Leaves with a hairless to rough sheath at the base. Ligule a membrane without a fringe of hairs. Leaves flat or the edges rolled inwards, 15-30cm long, 1-3mm wide, rough, the margins hairy or smooth.  Spikelets 10-15mm long, excluding the awn.  Mature seed groups spreading. Seeds with one long awn.
