Notes

Perennial forb or shrub to 1m tall.  Leaves alternating up the stems, 1-6cm long, 2-8mm wide, flat, hairless.  Lower leaves toothed, with rounded tips, upper leaves usually with entire edges and pointed tips.  Flower heads yellow, with 24-50 ‘petals’, many flowers in open groups at the tops of the stems.  Burrs hairless, with 2-9 spines.
