Introduced annual forb to 40cm tall. Leaves mostly in a basal rosette, 3-15cm long, almost hairless to hairy or bristly, edges deeply lobed to toothed or entire, the few stem leaves alternating up the stems, smaller, with basal lobes, usually stem clasping, entire or with toothed margins. Flowers white, with 4 petals, in dense clusters at the tops of elongating stems.
