Introduced annual grass to 1m tall. Leaves with a hairy to sparsely hairy sheath at the base. Ligule a membrane without a fringe of hairs. Leaves 3-17cm long, 2-14mm wide, flat, hairless to sparsely hairy, or rough, edges often wavy. Spikelets pale greenish or purplish, 2-4mm long. Seeds with 0 bristles. Mature seed groups spreading.
