Notes

Annual or perennial grass to 45cm tall.  Leaves with a sheath at the base.  Base of the plant very hairy.  Ligule a fringe of hairs. Leaves to 12cm long, 1-4mm wide, flat or the edges rolled inwards, hairy to rough, sticky.  Spikelets straw-coloured, 4-14mm long. Seeds with with 9 awns. Mature seed groups cylindrical.
