Notes

Introduced annual grass to 90cm tall, often with an unpleasant odour. Leaves with a sheath at the base. Ligule a fringe of hairs. Leaves flat, 5-20cm long, 2-8mm wide, sometimes rolled, hairless except for a tuft of hairs at the top of the sheath, often with pit-like or warty glands on the margins, tapering to a fine point. Spikelets olive green or purplish, 2-30mm long. Seeds with 0 bristles. Mature seed groups spreading or elliptical to cylindrical.
