Notes

Perennial grass 20-80cm tall.  Leaves with a woolly sheath at the base.  Ligule a fringe of hairs.  Leaves 5-10cm long, 1-3mm wide, flat, rolled, or the edges rolled inwards, surface hairless, and rough.  Spikelets purplish, 6-37mm long.  Mature seed groups cylindrical to spreading.  Seeds with 0 bristles.
