Notes

Perennial grass 40-90cm tall, sometimes sprawling.  Leaves with a woolly sheath at the base.  Ligule a fringe of hairs.  Leaves 2.5-16cm long, to 3mm wide,  flat or the edges rolled inwards, narrowly rolled when dry, rough, hairy or hairless, with a straight firm point.  Spikelets  pale to straw-coloured or yellowish, 5-7mm long, hairy.  Mature seed groups cylindrical to spreading. Seeds with no bristles.
