Mallee or small tree to 10m tall. Bark stringy, rough except for the smallest branches in trees. In mallees, the bark is rough on the stems with the branches smooth. Leaves aromatic when crushed, alternating up the stems, 7-12cm long, 15-40mm wide, hairless, glossy green, tips pointed. Flowers white, with 0 petals, in clusters of 9-15 at the bases of the leaves. Flower bud caps shorter than the base. Nut valves not very noticeable.
