Notes

Mallee or tree to 12m tall.  Bark smooth throughout or rough below, smooth above.  New bark orange.  Leaves aromatic when crushed, alternating up the stems, 5-14cm long, 8-25 mm wide, flat, hairless, dull, pale or green, rarely glaucous.  Flowers white to cream or yellow, with 0 petals, in clusters of 7-15 at the bases of the leaves.  Bud caps longer than base or about the same length as the base.  Nuts that have dropped their seed have slender fragile valves protruding strongly.
