Shrub to 50cm tall.  'Leaves' in whorls of three, about 0.2-0.6cm long, about 1mm wide, edges curved up, hairless, with blunt tips.  Flowers yellow and orange-red, pea-shaped, with 5 petals, 2 almost joined together. Flowers single, the stalks arisng from the bases of the leaves.

Differs from Eutaxia microphylla in that the leaves are in threes and 2.3-5.5mm long, and the tips of the smaller branches are never spiny.
