Introduced perennial forb 10-30cm tall.  Leaves clustered at the base of the plant, with a sheathing base. Leaves 5-18cm long, 3-20mm wide, flat, hairless to rough above, hairy below, with edges lobed or entire, and pointed tips.  Flower heads with many red to yellow or cream ‘petals’ with black bases and yellow to orange centres, borne singly at the end of the stem.
