Annual forb to 50cm tall.  Leaves at the base of the plant and alternating along the stems.  Leaves to 12cm long, to 25mm wide or more, flat,  hairy, margins toothed or lobed.  Stem leaves to 25mm wide, sometimes with entire edges.  Flowers fragrant, with 4 mauve or white petals, in dense racemes of up to 30 flowers which later elongate.

Differs from Harmsiodoxa brevipes var. brevipes in that the petals are 4-8mm long, and from Harmsiodoxa blennodioides  in that the hairs on the fruiting bodies are approxiamtely the same length all over (may be visible with a hand lens).
