Notes

Introduced perennial grass, 20-120cm tall.  Leaves mostly basal, some alternating up the stem, with a hairy sheath at the base.  Ligule a membrane without a fringe of hairs.  Leaves 4-20cm long, 3-10mm wide, flat, hairy, with a fine point.  Spikelets green, pink, or purple, turning white, 4-7mm long.  Mature seed groups cylindrical to spreading.  Seeds with 1 very short awn or point.
