Notes

Annual or perennial grass to 80cm tall.  Leaves with a hairless or rough sheath at the base.  Ligule a membrane without a rim of hairs.  Leaves 8-30cm long, 1-5mm wide, threadlike, flat, or folded together lengthwise, surface rough, with a straight point.  Spikelets pale green, 2-5mm long.  Mature seed groups spreading.  Seeds with one short awn.
