Perennial forb to 1.2m tall, woody at the base.  Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.5-4cm long, 1-3mm wide, linear, hairless, with a straight point.  Flowers white, pink or mauve, with many ‘petals’.  Flower heads oval, borne singly at the tops of the stems. It often grows through other shrubs.  Rare Vic.
