Forb to 1.3m tall.  Leaves basal and alternating up the stems, slightly stem-clasping, to 20cm long, to 80mm wide, flat, sticky hairy.  Stem leaves with basal lobes. Flowers pink or white outside, white inside, tubular, with 5 scalloped lobes, in 'panicles' at the tops of the flower stems which arise from the base of the plant.  Flowers which self-pollinate without opening are common.
