Notes

Annual forb, sprawling or to 35cm tall.  Leaves basal and alternating up the stems or opposite each other on the stem.  Leaves 1-4cm long, 3-6mm wide, flat, hairy.  Basal leaves with a sheath at the base.  Flowers tiny (less than 3mm across), blue or white, tubular, with five lobes, solitary at the bases of the leaves, in open racemes at the ends of the stems.  Seeds with many barbed-tipped spines.
