Introduced annual grass to 1.2m tall or sprawling. Leaves with a hairy sheath at the base. Ligule a fringe of hairs or a membrane with a fringe of hairs. Leaves flat, 10-30cm long, 4-25mm wide, rough, hairy, or hairless, often with wavy edges. Spikelets green or greenish-brown, 4-6mm long. Seeds with 0 bristles. Mature seed groups cylindrical or spreading.
