Notes

Annual forb to 20cm tall.  Leaves clustered at the base of the plant, 2-10cm long, 4-25mm wide, flat, hairy, toothed.  Flowers tubular, with 4 white 'petals', in cylindrical greenish or straw-coloured spikes on stalks arising from the base of the plant.

Differs from Plantago cunninghamii, Plantago drummondii, and Plantago varia in that the 'seeds' are about 3 mm long, and are pear shaped, the beak being flat -topped. Needs at least a hand lens to see.
