Notes

Annual grass to 50cm tall or sprawling.  Leaves with a sheath at the base.  Ligule a fringe of hairs or a membrane with a fringe of hairs.  Leaves 2-6cm long, 2-6mm wide, flat, rolled in bud, glaucous or hairless, edges with stiff hairs, often wavy, and with pointed tips.  Spikelets green, 3-5mm long.  Mature seed groups cylindrical.  Seeds burr -like, covered in short hooked spines.  Rare Vic.
