Notes

Introduced annual grass 5-70cm tall.  Leaves with a hairless sheath at the base.  Ligule a membrane without a fringe of hairs.  Leaves 2-17cm long, to 3mm wide, rolled, flat or the edges rolled inwards, hairy or bristly, with rough edges and a straight point.  Flower heads green or purple.  Spikelets 7-13mm long.  Mature seed groups cylindrical.  Seeds with one long awn, in groups of 3-10.
