Seed shrimp (Ostracoda) have clam-like bivalved carapaces.  Water fleas are enclosed in a carapace and head shield, although usually transparent and less likely to be confused with box mites.

Allow Misinterpretations: Some oribatid mites or beetles could be confused with ostracods.
