All Aleiodes wasp larvae "mummify" their inchworm hosts when the host dies. This mummy, caused by
Aleiodes (Tetrasphaeropyx) reisi on the geometrid Macaraia multilineata consists of the dead host's thickened skin.
Note how swollen it appears. Also, note the host head capsule remains at the left, and the exit hole
chewed by the adult wasp after it emerged from its cocoon inside the mummy (right).
