Biology
Sarcophaga
taenionota is commonly found on, and known to
breed in human and cow faeces along with dead animals
(Park, 1977; Ferrar, 1979; P�rez-Moreno et al., 2006).
It was also collected at decayed carrion-baits by KAM.
Taxonomy
The eggs and larval instars
were described by Ferrar (1979; referred to as Parasarcophaga
knabi). DNA barcode sequences of S. taenionota
have been deposited in both GenBank and BOLD.
