Type locality: Tasmania.

Synonym: Legrandia maddocki Hanley in Legrand, W. (1872).

State of taxonomy

Although two species are recognised, there is some doubt if they are valid as both occur sympatrically in Great Lake (Richards et al. 2018).

Biology and ecology

Known from lakes of the Central Plateau of Tasmania. They were recently found by Kevin Macfarlane attached to wood in approximately 10 m of water.

Distribution

Tasmania - upper Derwent drainage, Lake St Clair and Great Lake.
