Diagnostic features

This tiny (1 mm maximum diameter) species has a weak dorsal keel and a ventral subangulation.

Original name: Glacidorbis otwayensis Ponder & Avern, 2000. In Ponder, W. F. & Avern, G. J. (2000). The Glacidorbidae (Mollusca: Gastropoda: (Heterobranchia) of Australia. Records of the Australian Museum 52: 307–353.

Type locality: Small creek at road bridge 3 km south of Nirranda East on road to Curdie Vale, Otway Ranges, Victoria.

Biology and ecology

This species occurs in small streams, springs and swamps, and amongst moss and roots of water plants.

Distribution

South-western Victoria.

Notes

 This is the only Glacidorbis known from the Otway Ranges.
