Globose sinistral shell, elongate papillate protoconch, prominent open umbilicus, sinuous outer lip, constricted last whorl. Teleoconch sculpture of fine axial and spiral threads which become obsolete on later whorls. Columella relatively broad and shelf-like with distinct broad bulge adjacent to umbilicus. Eyes situated on lobes on median side of tentacles. Animal body grey with patches of grey pigment.

Found in wet, seasonally inundated muddy depressions on flood plain.

Genetic study has shown that this species is most closely related to Leichhardtia sisurnius.
