Shells of this species have a mid-dorsal and mid-ventral keel, and fine spiral threads over their entire surface.

Type locality: In small hole in plain just south of Lake Edgar (now drowned as part of Lake Pedder) Tasmania.
This species occurs in rivers, lakes, streams, springs and swamps, amongst moss, roots of water plants and similar substrates.
Central and south-western Tasmania.
