Taxonomy  Colocasia esculenta var. esculenta

Habit   Short, stiffly erect, stocky, producing 5-10 ‘ohā.

Corm   White flesh with yellowish fibers; cortex white to cream-colored.

Petiole   Light green with light greenish edge, a white area above the base.

Leaf blade   Broadly ovate, almost horizontal, somewhat crinkled but not cupped, dark green; piko yellowish; lobes acute and usually overlapping, with medium-cut sinus.

Origin   Hawaiian variety.

Cultivation   Dryland and wetland cultivation?; matures in 9-12 months.

Uses   Table taro.

Comments   Moana, meaning "broad" in Hawaiian, probably refers to the broad, ovate leaf blades.
