Setal form
The shapes of setae have attracted a lot of names, so of which are difficult to apply. But tricarinate setae (composed of three parallel carinae or ridges running along the axis) are characteristic of Lasioseius and spathulate to paddle-shaped setae (i.e. with flattened, expanded tips) have arisen several times.
