The following list includes 29 species currently known to occur in New Zealand. Two more species with wide cosmopolitan or Pacific distribution - Neoseiulus aurescens (Athias-Henriot) and Phytoseius hawaiiensis Prasad, not recorded from New Zealand, were included in the key to cover possible future eventualities. Five species known to occur in New Zealand - Amblyseius bidibidi (Collyer), Amblyseius perlongisetus Berlese, Phytoscutus acaridophagus (Collyer), Proprioseiopsis exopodalis (Kennett), and Typhlodromus bakeri (Garman) were not included in the key, as collection materials were not available. These five species are not common, and were not found in New Zealand commercial glasshouses.
