Shrub or small tree to 6m tall. ‘Leaves’ alternating up the stems, 4-18cm long, to 3mm wide, linear and flat, occasionally flattened cylindrical, more or less glaucous, hairy, sometimes sticky, often with a hooked tip. Flower heads yellow, cylindrical, single, the stalks arising from the bases of the 'leaves'.
