Shrub 30cm-3m tall. ‘Leaves’ alternating up the stems, 1-6cm long, 1-5mm wide, flat, occasionally linear, hairless, somewhat scurfy and sticky when young, edges smooth, with a straight point. Flower heads yellow, spherical, single or in pairs, the stalks arising from the bases of the 'leaves'.
Differs from Acacia wilhelmiana in that the branches and 'leaves' are slightly resinous and sticky when young, the more mature branches and 'leaves' never resinous or sticky, and the flower stalks are hairless or hairy.
