Annual to short-lived perennial forb, prostrate to sprawling, to 20cm tall. Leaves 1-2cm long, flat, sparsely scurfy above, densely scaly below, somewhat warty, with margins entire and flat or curved upwards. Flowers small (less than 3mm across), male and female flowers on the same plant, male flowers (with 1-2 female) in small round clusters at the bases of the upper leaves, female flowers solitary or in clusters of 2-4 at the bases of the leaves. Occurs round the margins of salt lakes. Endangered SA. Rare Vic.
