Notes

Perennial grass to 1m tall.  Leaves with a hairy or hairless sheath at the base.  Ligule a membrane with or without a fringe of hairs. Leaves 25-55cm long, 1-4mm wide, rolled or the edges rolled inwards, hairy or hairless.  Spikelets 13-25mm long. Mature seed groups spreading. Seeds with one long awn.
