Notes
Introduced annual or perennial grass 10cm-1.5m tall. Leaves with a sparsely to densely hairy, slightly rough sheath at the base. Ligule a fringe of hairs. Leaves 3-30cm long, 2-10mm wide, flat, rolled when drying, rough, hairy or hairless, the edges smooth or with short hairs, and tapering to a fine hard point. Spikelets white or purple, 3-12mm long. Mature seed groups cylindrical. Seeds with many bristles.
