Aromatic perennial forb 6-20cm tall. Leaves alternating up the stems, 1-3cm long, 2-7mm wide, flat, hairy becoming hairless, edges toothed to almost entire. Flowers creamy green, with 0 petals. Flower heads biconvex or hemispherical to almost globular, convex above, borne singly, stalkless at the bases of the leaves.
