Introduced perennial forb 50-100cm tall. Basal leaves 4-20cm long, 15-50mm wide, lobed, hairless, soon withering. Stem leaves alternating up the stems, flat, hairless, with entire edges, mostly reduced and bract-like. Almost leafless at flowering time. Flowers heads cylindrical, with 9-15 yellow ‘petals’, with 1-3 flower heads at the base of a bract -like leaf. Declared plant in SA. Noxious weed Vic.
