Perennial forb or shrub to 20cm tall, rarely prostrate. Leaves alternating along the stems, 0.2-0.8cm long, 1-5mm wide, flat, hairy, with pointed tips. Flowers white to pink, bell-shaped, with 5 lobes, solitary at the bases of the leaves, forming short leafy spikes or heads at the ends of the stems.
