Annual sedge to 10cm tall. Leaves grass-like, with a sheath at the base, longer or much longer than the stems, 1-2mm wide, with rough edges. Spikelets 3-5mm long, 1.5-2mm wide, green, or white ot pale brown, in a single globular head at the tops of the flowering stems, subtended by 3-7 or more long leaf-like bracts. Often a few small bracts protrude from the flower head. Grows in wet or temporarily wet places. Vulnerable Vic.
