Perennial grass to 1m tall. Leaves with a hairless or hairy sheath at the base. Ligule a membrane without a fringe of hairs. Leaves 3-16cm long, 1-7mm wide, flat, hairless, hairy, or rough, margins rough and wavy, with a drawn-out straight point. Spikelets with white, brownish, or purple hairs, 2-4mm long excluding the hairs. Seeds with 0 bristles. Mature seed groups cylindrical. Poorly known Vic.
