Annual forb, growing in water or mud. Stems prostrate, in mud, forming mats; in water, the branches sometimes erect. Leaves opposite each other, 0.2-1.6cm long, to 5mm wide (larger in submerged leaves), flat, hairless, with minute glands on the margins. Flowers small (less than 3mm across), with 3 white to pink petals, one flower at the base of each leaf pair. Rare SA.
