Notes

Annual or perennial grass, prostrate or 3-55cm tall.  Leaves with a sheath at the base.  Ligule a fringe of hairs.  Leaves 1-8cm long, 1-4mm wide, at first flat but soon becoming folded lengthwise or the edges rolled inwards, surface rough or hairless.  Spikelets pink, purple, or brown, 4-50mm long.  Seeds with no bristles.  Mature seed groups spreading or cylindrical.
