Introduced perennial grass to 1.2m tall, or sprawling. Leaves with a hairy sheath with hairy margins at the base. Ligule a fringe of hairs. Leaves 10-40cm long, 1-6mm wide, flat or the edges rolled inwards, hairless, glaucous. Spikelets 6-23mm long. Mature seed groups cylindrical to spreading. Seeds with 0 bristles.
