Notes

Mallee or tree to 8m tall.  Bark smooth throughout, sometimes rough below and smooth above.  Branchlet pith with or without oil glands.  Leaves aromatic when crushed, alternating up the stems, 5-15cm long, 8-30 mm wide, flat, hairless, glossy, green or grey-green, thick, edges entire or with small teeth.  Flowers white or yellow, rarely pink or red, with 0 petals, in clusters of 3-7 at the bases of the leaves.  Bud caps shorter than or about the same length as the base.  Buds & nuts usually with longitudinal lines or ridges.  Nut valves not very noticeable.  Eucalyptus costata ssp. murrayana in NSW.
